Algeria: In human history, a meteorite has been found even older than the earth itself, which is a volcanic rock in its nature.
It is said to be 4.6 billion years old, meaning it is even older than Earth's history.
This rare rock has been discovered in the Algerian desert, which is part of the regular Sahara Desert. It was discovered by Japanese and French experts in 2020 and began to be considered the very next day.
It is thought to have come into existence only 2 million years after the formation of the solar system. Studying this will make us aware of the past of our solar system and we will also be able to know the evolution of the earth.
The meteorite is named Erg Check 002 and is briefly called EC002. French expert Jean-Alex Bere says he has been researching meteorites for the past 20 years and this is the most amazing discovery of his life.
Such rocks on Earth are called andesites which are common in geological subduction zones. At these places, the Earth's natural geological plates meet and compete with each other.
But the rocky meteors found so far are made of basalt. Preliminary research has shown that it is made of molten material and is volcanic in nature. Then, 4.6 billion years ago, it solidified.
The meteorite is thought to have been part of a failed planet or protoplanet that did not form a planet but disintegrated. However, experts will do more research on it and tell us its secrets.
