New Study:
LONDON: Cod-19 symptoms are more destructive in smokers and increase the risk of death, according to a new study.
The smoker has a High Risk of Coronavirus:
A research paper by King's College London has been published in the scientific journal Thorax, which claims that people addicted to cigarettes are at higher risk of covid. The study looked at the medical records of 2.4 million people last year.
High Chance of Coronavirus:
Data from this study show that smokers were 14% more likely to develop normal covid symptoms than the general population, while those with more than five symptoms had a higher risk than the general population. The probability of reporting a symptom of 29% and more than 10% was 50% higher.
Hospitalization Rate of Smokers:
The study also found that smokers are twice as likely to be hospitalized than non-smokers and may need to be admitted to the intensive care unit and a ventilator earlier. And many die during treatment, and those who survive may experience prolonged coughing, shortness of breath, and even a slight lack of oxygen after recovery.
