Causes of Increase in the Divorce Rate in Pakistan: A Survey

A survey has been by the students of M.Phil Sociology; what are the causes and effects of increasing the divorce rate in Pakistan.
Married Life, Good Life

Male Side:
1. Divorce Rate is more illiterate males than literates.
2. Divorce Rate in Urban areas is higher than Rural areas.
3. Divorce Rate is higher in Nuclear family system than joint family system.
4. Divorce Rate in Love Marriages is at the highest level.
5. Divorce Rate in people following western culture is higher than following religion.
6. Divorce Rate in religious families is negligible.
7. Divorce Rate is higher in male, having affairs with other sex.

Female Side:
1. Divorce Rate in highly educated and employed females higher than illiterate or matric level educated females.
2. Divorce Rate in Urban areas is higher than Rural areas.
3. Divorce Rate is higher in Nuclear family system than joint family system.
4. Divorce Rate in Love Marriages is at the highest level.
5. Divorce Rate in females following western culture is higher than in the following religion.
6. Divorce Rate in religious families is negligible.
7. Divorce Rate is lower in females, due to having less affairs with other sex.

Suggestions/Solutions:-

There are some suggestions/solutions found in the survey.

A. Giving continuous awareness in both (male/female) regarding upcoming conditions and responsibilities after marriages.
B. Not being status conscious.
C. Reducing interference from the both sides.
D. Love marriages should be discouraged by both male and female.
E. Increasing factor of Patience in the both (male/female).
F. Being in the lap of religion is the best solution to reduce the divorce rate.
G. There should be same level of education in both males and females.
H. Try to live common life rather than artificial life. Artificial life has ruined the married life.
